UPSC ESE Syllabus 2025

UPSC ESE की परीक्षा दो चरणों में होगी पहले चरण में प्रीलिम्स एग्जाम तथा दूसरे चरण मैन्स एग्जाम होगा। प्रीलिम्स एग्जाम में दो पेपर होते हैं, पेपर 1 (200 अंक) और पेपर 2 (300 अंक)। मेन्स एग्जाम में भी दो पेपर होते हैं, जिनमें प्रत्येक 300 अंक का होता है। इन पेपर के सिलबस की सम्पूर्ण जानकारी नीचे दी गई हैं।

  5. Design of Concrete & Masonry Structures: Design of beams, slabs, retaining walls, and earthquake-resistant design.

  1. Fluid Mechanics & Hydraulic Machines: Fluid properties, open channel flow, turbines, and pumps.
  2. Hydrology & Water Resources Engineering: Hydrological cycle, river management, irrigation, canal design, and reservoir capacity.
  3. Environmental Engineering: Water supply, wastewater management, solid waste, and air/noise pollution.
  4. Geo-technical & Foundation Engineering: Soil properties, foundations, slope stability, and earth pressure.
  5. Surveying & Geology: Survey methods, instruments, GPS, remote sensing, and basic geology for projects.

Paper 1 Syllabus

  1. Fluid Mechanics: Fluid properties, statics, Bernoulli’s equation, flow through pipes, laminar and turbulent flow.
  2. Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer: Thermodynamic cycles (Rankine, Otto, Diesel), entropy, modes of heat transfer, conduction, convection, radiation, and heat exchangers.
  3. IC Engines, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning: Internal combustion engines, performance, emission control, refrigeration cycles, and air conditioning basics.
  4. Turbo Machinery: Types of turbines and compressors, jet propulsion basics, and steam/gas turbines.
  5. Power Plant Engineering: Rankine and Brayton cycles, fuel properties, boilers, condensers, and cooling towers.
  6. Renewable Energy: Solar energy systems, wind, biomass, tidal energy, and basics of fuel cells.
